2015-2016 Executive Board

 

The Bradley Collegiate Chapter of NAfME has an elected executive board. Below are our current board members and the position for which they have been elected. 

Mikaela Wilmoth
Bradley NAfME President

Mikaela Wilmoth is a Senior Vocal Music Education Major from Mount Horeb Wisconsin. She is an active member in many Bradley Performing Ensembles, including the Bradley Winds Ensembles, the Bradley Symphonic Orchestra, the Bradley Chorale, and the Bradley Chamber Singers. Mikaela has also served as section leader for the French Horn sections in the Bradley Winds Ensemble and Bradley Symphonic Orchestra. In addition, she is an active member of the Sigma Alpha Iota women's Music Fraternity and serves as Recording Secretary.

This past summer, she was selected and participated in the Lakeside Leadership Academy at Lakeside Chautauqua in Lakeside, Ohio. While there, she worked as the Youth Education and Music Intern. In the future, she hopes to teach at the middle school level and continue to inspire and encourage young musicians.

Clara Capriotti
Bradley NAfME
Vice President

2015-2016 Presser Scholar Clara Capriotti is a senior Music Education and Flute Performance double major at Bradley University, where she studies with Dr. Kyle Dzapo. She most recently performed as flute soloist with the Bradley Symphonic Winds for their Tribute to John Philip Sousa. Last summer, she won a position in the National Flute Association’s Collegiate Flute Choir, and could also be found studying at the highly acclaimed ARIA International Summer Academy in Massachusetts. Winner of the university’s 2013-14 Concerto-Aria Competition, she performed with the Bradley Symphony Orchestra in March 2014 and also that month won Third Prize in the Wisconsin Flute Festival’s Collegiate Competition. In 2010, she performed with the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra as a winner of the Kiwanis Youth Concerto Competition. Clara is a member of the Bradley Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, and Collegium Musicum. In addition, she is the president of the Beta Gamma chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota. In the future, she plans on teaching, performing, and befriending many cats. 

Lindsay Kozlowski
Bradley NAfME Secretary and Treasurer 

Lindsay Kozlowski is a junior Music Education major with an instrumental concentration, from Orland Park, IL. She performs in the Bradley Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Bradley chamber music program. She is violist of the Hilltop String Quartet, whom performs for events and gigs around the Peoria area. Lindsay has also performed in Bradley’s musical productions, and has played with the Central Illinois Youth Symphony Orchestra. She is Secretary and Treasurer for Bradley University’s Collegiate Chapter of  the National Association for Music Educators and serves as a member of Bradley’s women’s music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota. Aside from being an active music department participant, Lindsay also teaches violin and viola lessons. 

Haley Woods

Public Relations and Recruitment

Haley is a Sophomore vocal music education major.  She is currently a member of the Bradley Chorale and plays the oboe with Symphonic Band.

 

 

Faculty Advisor
Dr. Kerry Walters


Kerry Walters, soprano, is Associate Professor of Music at Bradley University where she coordinates voice studies, directs the Bradley University Women’s Choir, Opera Workshop and Bradley Opera Youth Outreach. She also teaches courses in Diction, Vocal Pedagogy, Vocal Literature and Music Education. In her twenty-five years at Bradley, Dr. Walters has guided her many students to careers as successful performers, music educators and music business professionals. Walters holds the Master of Arts in Teaching from Portland State University (Oregon) and the Doctor of Musical Arts in vocal performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grade general music in her native Oregon for seven years before pursuing graduate studies. She is a frequent soloist in the central Illinois region and especially enjoys performing the music of Bach and Handel.
